Central Market and the Botanic Gardens
Start your day at the colourful Adelaide Central Market, just a 15-minute walk from your hotel. This market is the largest covered market in the Southern Hemisphere and is open six days a week. Visit stalls selling cheese, charcuterie and jams, and pick up some goodies for a lunchtime picnic at the Adelaide Botanic Garden.
Next is a visit to the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, either grab a taxi or enjoy the 2km walk. Meander through the gardens with majestic tree-lined avenues and find a nice spot to sit down and enjoy your picnic lunch. A must-see is the Bicentennial Conservatory, built in celebration of Australia’s 1988 Bicentenary, it is the largest single-span conservatory in the Southern Hemisphere.

Museum and Glenelg
After a leisurely breakfast, stroll along the tree-lined North Terrace, Adelaide’s cultural precinct, and visit the South Australian Museum, which houses the world’s largest collection of Australian Aboriginal cultural artefacts.
Then take a 50-minute tram from the city centre to Glenelg. Spend the afternoon relaxing with a stroll along the jetty and a swim, followed by a sunset cruise.

McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills
Pick up your hire car and head to McLaren Vale, a 1hr drive south of Adelaide. Nestled between the Mount Lofty Ranges and white sandy beaches, the picturesque region features rolling hills, vineyards, a rugged coastline and charming villages.
Visit some of the 70 cellar doors in the area, such as Gemtree, Wirra Wirra or Hugh Hamilton. The region is also known for premium dining spots, fresh local produce and one of the oldest Farmer’s Markets in Australia, a great place to visit for some delicious gourmet delicacies and unique handmade crafts.
Take in the panoramic view from the cellar door of the architectural masterpiece, d’Arenberg Cube. Indulge in a dining experience at the Cube for lunch with seasonally changing degustation menus and an extensive wine list.

Hahndorf and the Barossa Valley
