Arrive in Cairns

Arrive in Cairns and pick up your rental car for your stay. Take a short drive to the spectacular Riley Hotel, check-in to your family room featuring adjoining bedrooms.

To freshen up, take a wander from the Riley to the Cairns Lagoon. Take a dip in the crystal-clear waters of the swimming lagoon or relax on the grass and soak up the atmosphere.

Scenic Railways

Drive to Smithfield Terminal for the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, a 7.5km cablecar ride taking 90 minutes, which ends at the beautiful village in the rainforest, Kuranda.

Spend some time wandering around the markets and boutique shops in Kuranda. Enjoy some locally sourced food for lunch, and then board the Kuranda Scenic Railway for the return journey to Freshwater station. From here take the coach transfer service back to Smithfield Terminal.

Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures

Enjoy the 40-minute drive up to Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures.  Explore the park at your leisure, taking in some of the wildlife presentations such as the snake show, crocodile feeding and the famous crocodile attack show. Enjoy some lunch in the park, then relax on a cruise on Harley’s lagoon, the natural habitat of the saltwater crocodile before heading back to the Riley for some down time.

Crystal Cascades

A 20-minute drive from Cairns is one of the hidden secrets of North Queensland, the Crystal Cascades. This secluded series of waterholes is a short 1.5km walk from the car park, through tropical rainforest. After your walk cool off with a dip in the natural pools, or enjoy a picnic lunch relaxing near the waterfall before returning to the Riley.

Spend the afternoon making the most of the pool at the Riley, have a dip at the Cairns Lagoon, or just a short walk  away is Muddy’s Playground, along with a Skatepark, Beach Volleyball, Healing Garden playground and the Funship Playground.

Sailaway Low Isles Tour

Be picked up by your private chauffeur and escorted to the Sailaway marina where you will depart for a full day experience of the Great Barrier Reef with a snorkelling and sailing tour to Low Isles. Relax on the white sandy beach of the island, snorkel over the magnificent coral gardens in the blue lagoon on a guided snorkel tour with a marine biologist and swim with turtles in their natural habitat. Enjoy a trip on the glass bottom boat with reef interpretation by the skipper, and explore the nature and history of Low Isles on an Island Heritage Walk with expert guides. Enjoy delicious morning and afternoon teas and a buffet lunch and the thrill of pure sailing on Sailaway VI, a luxury Lagoon 560 sailing catamaran.

Paronella Park

Explore to the south today, with a day trip down to award winning Paronella Park, a 90 minute drive from Cairns. This magical location is the dream of Jose Paronella, who wanted to create a castle in this beautiful part of Australia. Upon arrival, take a 45-minute tour of the eco-accredited and heritage-listed park to set the scene for your visit.

Enjoy a picnic lunch, or a meal at the cafe, before exploring the five hectares of land featuring two cascading waterfalls, exotic rainforest plants and majestic trees of the forest. Wander through the enchanting grounds on a series of winding paths and bridges that snake through the forest and Castle ruins.
