Since opening its arched doors a few years ago, Halcyon House has been making waves on the luxury beachfront. The former 1960s motel favored by Cabarita surfers now attracts fashionable Gold Coast converts with its eclectic interiors and easygoing attitude. Walls in the 21 rooms are all upholstered in different fabrics; furnishings are seaside chic, accented with a delightful mishmash collected from flea markets and estate sales. Striped loungers add a Hollywood-heyday touch to the teak-lined pool. Wunderkind chef Jason Barratt whips up simple coastal cuisine at Paper Daisy restaurant.

Each guest room at Halcyon House has been individually designed by interior designer Anna Spiro in her signature eclectic style. All Halcyon House rooms feature antique furniture, fabric upholstered walls and luxurious king size beds.

Dining

The dining experience at award winning hatted restaurant Paper Daisy is a celebration of our unique part of the world. Paper Daisy has received many accolades including most recently; Best Hotel Breakfast (Gourmet Traveller 2018), Australia’s Top 100 Restaurants (Australian Financial Review 2018) and one Hat Award (The Good Food Guide, 2020).

Paper Daisy is open exclusively to in-house guests for breakfast and to the public for group lunch bookings and dinner by reservation.
Paper Daisy bar is open daily from 3pm, no reservations required.
