Cheryl, one of our favourite clients from Melbourne, has recently returned from a 10 night expedition cruise and we’re thrilled to be able to share some of her photos and experiences as well as some very helpful insights.
Cruising from Darwin to Broome on board Coral Adventurer in May it was a fantastic opportunity to escape the cold Victorian weather and soak up some sun. Here’s what Cheryl had to say about her cruise.
Did you find all the pre sailing instructions easy to follow?
Yes, it’s called Sailsafe. The instructions were step to step & easy to follow. My consultant Melanie worked through it with me and Coral Expeditions were very helpful with any queries.
Was boarding the ship easy? what did you have to provide?
I had to have my COVID test results, the completed boarding forms, NT border pass & WA G2G. Temperature test was taken by a doctor prior to embarkation. Embarkation flowed very well as I was on the transfer that was provided by Coral Expeditions
What was your cabin like?
I was in a Explorer Deck balcony stateroom, very comfortable with a king size bed & private balcony. The ensuite had a shower, toilet and heaps of storage
Did you like the ship & its facilities?
Great ship, facilities were fantastic. One dining room, food was extremely good. Loved the outside Bridge Deck bar
Were the crew fabulous?
Could not fault them, terrific, 10 out of 10. All were doing extra jobs due to lack of crew numbers in Australia and always had a smile on their faces
Age group of the other guests? Do you need to be fit?
All ages, but mostly 50 – 80. One of the walks was quite hard but you do need reasonable fitness & mobility for getting on or off the tenders.
Highlights of the cruise?
The scenery, Horizontal falls, the rock paintings, the birdlife & everything else. Sunset canapés and drinks on the beach watching the sunset
Anything special that we should know?
Its all special (Australia has so much diversity)
