Also known as immersion travel, experiential tourism is building in popularity as travellers are seeking a holiday that opens them up to something unexpected or removed from their everyday life. Experiences can focus on one or several areas of the destination’s local life, such as food & meal times, culture, history, shopping, nature or social life.
